Trust Your Instincts

Your intuition is a powerful tool. If something feels off, it probably is. Don't second-guess yourself or worry about being "rude." Ending a chat that makes you uncomfortable is always the right choice. No explanation needed.

Major Red Flags to Watch For

  • Requests for personal information: Asking for your address, phone number, social media, workplace, or full name early in the conversation.
  • Pressure to move off-platform: Insisting you switch to another app, website, or messaging service. This is a major warning sign.
  • Inappropriate requests: Any request for photos, videos, or actions that make you uncomfortable. Full stop.
  • Aggressive or hostile behavior: Rudeness, anger, insults, or passive-aggressive comments when you don't comply.
  • Excessive compliments/ love bombing: Over-the-top flattery very early on, especially if it feels insincere or manipulative.
  • Asking for money or gifts: Any mention of financial trouble, requests for wire transfers, gift cards, or "loans."
  • Too personal, too fast: Asking about relationship status, intimate details, or making assumptions about your life early on.
  • Refusing to respect boundaries: Continuing a topic after you've changed it or said you're not comfortable.
  • Suspicious links: Asking you to click on unknown URLs or download files.
  • Inappropriate content: Displaying nudity, explicit material, or engaging in sexually suggestive behavior.

Subtle Warning Signs

Not all red flags are obvious. Pay attention to:

  • They avoid answering direct questions or give vague responses.
  • They seem to be scripting responses or using generic lines.
  • They're overly interested in your personal details but share little about themselves.
  • The conversation feels transactional—like they're trying to get something from you.
  • They become cold or dismissive if you don't engage exactly as they want.

When to Use the "Next" Button

You can click "Next" anytime—no reason needed. But especially if:

  • The conversation has an awkward, forced vibe that isn't improving
  • They make you feel uncomfortable, even subtly
  • They violate any red flag above
  • You're just not clicking—and that's okay!

How to Report a User

If someone violates community guidelines, use the report function immediately. Provide as much detail as possible—what they did, when it happened. Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action. Reporting protects others and helps maintain a safe community.

After Ending a Chat

Take a moment to reset. Even minor uncomfortable interactions can leave you feeling unsettled. Do something grounding—stretch, get a drink, look away from the screen. Your well-being comes first. If the experience was particularly distressing, consider taking a longer break from the platform.

Remember: It's Not Your Fault

If someone behaves inappropriately, that's on them—not you. You don't need to justify ending a chat or explain yourself. Trusting your instincts is a strength, not a weakness.
